for LiUNA Pension Fund

PROPOSAL:  5 new buildings with podiums for  8 towers. A 'new street' will run from Concorde Place through the development to Concorde Gate. The existing buildings known as Concorde Corporate Centre (Home Depot Building)  and the ESRI Building are to be demolished.

​

This comprehensive June 2022 report by North York planning outlines the criteria on which the application was reviewed . The recommendation was that the City attend the OLT hearing in opposition to the current proposal which resulted in period of confidential mediation between the City and the developer.

While many residents contributed much time and energy  to the 'fight' to alter this development to be more sympathetic with our community, the efforts of Richard & Karl must be highlighted.  For a recap of their significant participation, please click on their names above.

Proposed Development

THE LATEST ON THIS PROPOSAL

A confidential, revised proposal was reviewed by the City  through the fall & winter of 2022.  At the City Council meeting, March 31 2023, City Councillors overwhelmingly rejected the revised offer. The developer applied to the  Ontario Land Tribunal for a decision.  (link  to changes)

Prior the start of the June 21, 2023 OLT hearing, a second, little known revision had been offered and accepted by City Council on June 14, 2023.  At the OLT hearing,

this revised proposal was confirmed with some minor amendments pending. The final approval is expected to be issued in about 6 months time.
